“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart." These words from Helen Keller rung true last April 29 – May 1, 2017 when for the second time within a 12-month period, the Cebu Teambuilding Facilitators Network handled a teambuilding for RDT Industrial Sales and Services Incorporated at Santa Fe Beach Club in Bantayan Island, Cebu, Philippines.
As the main facilitator for this team building, there was a bit of pressure on my part since the first RDT Industrial Sales and Services team building program they had was with the forebearer of Cebu Teambuilding Facilitators Network, Thaddeau Ybarsabal Engaling. I had a chance to talk to Thadz before the event and he inspired me to take it as a challenge, to satisfy the participants’ needs and feelings in terms of the feeling of fulfillment in having fun during the team building program and having learned something and also committing to it as well. Starting on the afternoon on April 29, 2017, instead of using the function room I opted to use the outside beachfront as the stage for the Team Building with RDT Industrial Sales and Services Incorporated.

This company which started 2 years ago houses a lot of electrical engineers and is partnered with major corporations all over the Philippines. The irony of it all was quite funny, when the initial SLE for the team building in Santa Fe Beach Club in Bantayan was called “Prison Break”, the whole group had to escape through an electrical fence while escaping from a fire and making sure everyone was safely in the safe zone. After the initial SLE, we broke through their walls by using one of the most emotional activities that I have ever experienced, a Positive Carousel. At the end of the activity, everyone was already into the whole emotional investment shindig for the team building session. And I can be happy to say that first day of the RDT Industrial Sales and Services Inc. team building in Santa Fe Beach Resort in Bantayan ended with a huge success.
During the second day, the day started with a tai chi exercise that went live on Faceboook. One of the facilitators, Philipp Chen Tan did a lecture on how to expressively send and how to emphatically respond to it. He was also able to add on a small discussion on the Art of Apologizing since the client wanted to put it in the modules. The first series of activities of the second day was focused on communication modules, for one cannot build a team without creating proper communication channels and making sure that these channels are always readily available.
