We have heard all too often from our client which was Republic Cement Iligan, Inc. how today’s pace of business is challenging and even if they reach more than the goals they set for themselves, the chance to let their hair down and discuss among themselves the team’s dynamics and how they are as an individual is a welcome opportunity for this prosperous organization.

Everyone has a unique way of communicating and collectively as a team, those differences can make for a rich team dynamic. But often times when pressured with timelines, our style can interfere with efficient teamwork. Which was proven when our participants did the Helium Ring activity. The goal of which is to make the Hula Hoop/Helium Ring reach the ground using only the index fingers of the group members. According to Darwin, one of the managers from Republic Cement Iligan, Inc., it takes a good leader to make the team improve and acknowledge that there are just too much suggestions and these might clash and turn into a hindrance for attaining a specific goal. So what does that tell you about leadership?

Throughout the whole seminar I got to know a lot about the relationship between an employee and an employer since the guys that we gave these sets of activities to were handling people in the office, these guys are managers. It is very essential to acknowledge a team’s accomplishment. During the lunch break, I had the chance to hear a very inspiring conversation between two managers about this specific topic, “Think of how important it is for children to get a complement on an achievement. It instills a sense of pride and accomplishment along with motivation to keep performing. This doesn’t just go away after childhood. All of us like to be acknowledged for a job well done. Celebrate milestones, don’t wait for the end of a project. Find time to recognize accomplishments along the way and keep the team inspired and motivated. Don’t you agree?

Throughout the whole day, these individuals showed me the importance of having a very strong bond with one another, leadership is essential for a team to succeed and that as a manager, it is quite important to make sure that the accomplishments of a team is known to all. I’d like to thank Republic Cement Iligan, Inc. for letting me indulge in something that I love, facilitating and handling team building programs. We had so much fun last Febrary 9, 2017 at the SEDA Hotel Centrio in Cagayan De Oro City, Misamis Oriental, Philippines and no amount of words cold ever describe the happiness I experienced as their facilitator.
