CTFN Does Change Management Seminar for Teradyne
"If you hire people just because they can do a job, they'll work for your money. But if you hire people who believe in what you believe, they'll work for you with blood, sweat and tears" - Simon Sinek
I've always felt thankful for organizations who deem their people as an investment rather regarding them as dead beat or worse, just another expense in their operations. In the ever changing dynamics of companies and organizations, for one, Teradyne has managed to have that as part of their culture: planting seeds of positive change in their workforce.
As a team building facilitator, I have observed and learned a great deal about teams and teammates over the last years being in the corporate environment. And one of the powerful insights that I often share at such events is how to create team unity.
Building a cohesive team requires you to connect people to two very important things:
First, you have to connect them to each other. And second, you have to connect them to a compelling common goal…
We all know that the basic component of a team always starts with individuals. The more cohesive they are with each other, the more effective catalysts they become inside the work place.
The day couldn't have been more perfect. We were graced with a good venue at Pacific Cebu Resort. Guests and spectators in the resort were thrilled as to what was in store for the participants that day. Our participants were from Teradyne
The day started with the need to awaken their inner persona. We engaged them through a self-awareness lecture and discussion. By this time, through the guided group discussions, the teams were classified according to their individual tendencies on behavior and attitude in the work place and how each one of them compliment each other. It was instant. The energy was contagious. You can feel it as you hear minds exchange ideas, discourse on ideals, and see smiles and laughter fill the air. After a while, You can see among them that they were a single unit already, in unison, ready for the change that lies ahead of themselves.
"Difficult but not impossible as one participant exclaimed!" It caught me as to how much passion and drive this participant has with her colleagues. It made me think time and again. The strength and success of every team lies in every person beside you.
Change has been most critical to organizations. Old customs have always been hard to transition to new ones. And innovations have paved the way for new and positive changes.
It was with resounding hearts and minds that the whole activity was sealed with each member of the team, including management, stating their individual pledges for the team and for the organization. It was like a rebirth. A cocoon transforming towards a butterfly. With renewed team spirit, each one exchanged high fives and hand shakes.
