Body Language Message Relay

Body Language Message Relay is a variation of the message relay wherein participants use only parts of their bodies to relay the word, phrase, sentence or paragraph given. This is different than the usual whispering of the original activity.

Materials Needed:

Human bodies! We need human bodies! Not the dead ones of course but warm, alive, and enthusiastic human bodies.

Objective:

To correctly relay the message from the first person to the last person on the line.

Rules:

  1. Verbal communication is not allowed.
  2. Participants line up in a single file.
  3. Facilitator shows note to first person at the back of the line.
  4. First person relays the note to the second person using only one body part.
  5. Second person then relays the note to the third person in line using another body part. The next person relays consequently to the next using other body parts.
  6. No 2 persons can use the same body part in relaying the note to the next person.
  7. Last person in line writes down the note and have it checked by the facilitator. Facilitator will confirm whether the team got the note correctly or not.

  1. I can definitely see myself using this in the future. I love that its a variation of the normal whispering pass the message that I encountered in school! It brings back memories :) Great activity!

  2. I actually had been able to do this activity in one seminar and i agree that it is fun and a very refreshing way to do message relay. I liked it. I am happy though that you showed a more structured instruction for this activity. -SF 54. C25

  4. Hahahahaha sounds like an interesting activity! I would love to see what kind of strategy participants will come up with this twist on the classic game of Pass the Message
